New Part L 2010

The new Building Regulations are now available for review, coming into force 01 October 2010.

Some of the Main Changes Include:

 

1. CO2 Emissions The major change is the requirement for a further 25% reduction in buildings’ CO2 emissions. 

2. Solar Gain Consideration should be given toBS8206-2 Code of Practice for Daylighting 

3. CO2 calcs need to be given to Building Control before the start building work and afterwards for follow up.

4. Commissioning: A new requirement has been added requiring a commissioning plan to be prepared and submitted to the Building Control Body with the design stage TER/ BER calculations

5. U Values The majority of the minimum standards such as fabric U values and air permeability requirements remain generally unchanged.

This means a detailed assessment of your AC systems, and testing to ensure it is working and being operated correctly.
