BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method)
The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method – or BREEAM – is one of the world’s most progressive and best recognised assessment and rating systems for buildings. It also provides a simple and comprehensive measure of how a building is performing – and in turn how ‘green’ it is. At pemxq, we have a team of BREEAM assessors who can provide the service for your business, as well as offering you expert advice on how to work towards the rating your need.
Code for Sustainable Homes
Code for Sustainable Homes is a national standard, measuring the sustainability of a home against key design categories, giving the home a ‘rating’ as a complete package. At pemxq, our in-house assessors will undertake the assessments on your behalf and will guide you through the entire process.
DEC (Display Energy Certificate)
The Display Energy Certificate (DEC) of a building provides an energy rating – from ‘A’ (the most efficient) to ‘G’ (the least efficient). Using government-accredited software, pemxq’s accredited energy assessors will assess your business and provide certification, as well as provide reports highlighting cost-effective measures that will help improve energy ratings.
EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)
Part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a requirement for all commercial properties, whenever they’re built, sold or rented. The team at pemxq are certified to undertake EPCs to compare current energy efficiency and carbon emissions with the potential figures your building could achieve. We will undertake the whole assessment and analyse your figures to help you make your energy efficiency goals a reality.
SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure)
The SAP is a way of assessing and comparing the energy and environmental performance of homes. It is required at the earliest stages of a build and, at pemxq, our qualified assessors can carry out the assessments for you, as well as giving advice on how to get your development through building control.
SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Modelling)
SBEM is a computer simulation that provides an analysis of a building’s energy consumption. It calculates monthly energy use and carbon emissions based on the building’s geometry, construction, purpose and utility usage. At pemxq, our team of energy assessors are qualified in carrying out all the calculations you need to pass Building Regulations.
